How to Maximize the Use of Your Apple Watch
Want to get the best out of you cool Apple watch? Here are some tricks that wll help you make the most of your little yet functional technology.
Activity App
The activity app is used to set activity goals. This application is separate from your Apple watch app and can also serve as a sort of productivity tool.
The activity application features the so-called “rings’. There are three rings you can use: (a)move, (b) exercise, (c) stand. In the first ring or the outer red ring, measures the number of movements the app has detected in the day. The exercise, or the green ring, measures the amount of activity you had for the day by detecting your movements and heart rate. The last one, or the blue inner ring, measures how many hours you spend in the day standing on your feet. The downfall of the last feature is its inability to quickly detect or recognize that the user is already standing up. You may even need to wave your arms around first.
The feature encourages you to close all the rings daily. To achieve that, it is advisable to set doable goals that you can still accomplish during rest day or even on your busy days.
Get Rid of Notifications by turning it off
Getting notified every once in a while is pretty good and bearable. But receiving a lot of notifications when you’re in the middle of doing something can be annoying. The Apple watch allows you to get rid of annoying pop up of notifications and bothering you while in the middle of a workout by simply letting you turn it off. Just go into the watch application and find the notification.
Find the fitness application that works best for you
There are lots of fitness apps to choose from. Whether you love Strava or Nike Run Club, there is an application for you. But if you have no specific fitness app in mind, just go for the Stock Activity Application. Some apps can work simultaneously while other apps can only be used one at a time. Do not be afraid to experiment and find out what app serves you best.
Play podcasts and/or music
Who does not love working out while the music is on? You sure want to listen to your favorite beats while losing some pounds or simply stretching. The apple watch knows this desire and incorporated a feature that allows you to listen to songs while achieving your fitness goals. You can play your favorite podcast or music directly from the apple watch, but you have to download the songs to the watch first. You’ll also need a wireless headphone.
The capability of the Apple watch to play music is ideal if you want to hit the gym or exercise outdoors without bringing your phone. The watch can also serve as a remote to control the playback if you choose to use your phone to play music.
Help in motivating yourself
The watch can also serve as a reminder of all the physical activities and work out you need to do for the day. You can choose to plug in all of your workouts in your calendar. If you do so, you’ll be reminded of the stuff you need to do in the morning. You can also set the sunrise or sunset and alarm time so you’ll always be on time. You can even know the weather, the phase of the moon, the battery level, the monthly mileage and more.
